Fabric-Covered Flower Pots

I picked up these two adorable pieces of fabric during a trip to Jo-Ann a couple of months ago, along with some small clay flower pots and a jar of matte-finish Mod Podge.

My intent was to make these adorable fabric-covered flower pots that I found on Pinterest awhile back.

I finally took 15 minutes last night to put them together, and I can’t even express how incredibly simple they were!

It was just a matter of cutting out a strip of fabric long enough to wrap around the pot, spreading a layer of Mod Podge on the clay and smoothing the fabric over top. A few snips at the top so that you can easily fold the fabric over the rim of the pot and then folding the ends underneath the bottom. Oh, and then let it dry. Done.

If you want to make your own, you can find the full tutorial for “Pretty Pots” over at Christine Chitnis!

I decided to just use the blue paisley, and absolutely love them. So fun, and perfect for spring decorating.

For now I’ve filled them both with candy, and wrapped one up for my sweet friend who’s been so amazing this past week.

And that pretty yellow print? I think I’m going to use it to make a new Boppy cover. But then again that means I’d have to pull out my sewing machine for the third time in two years.

We’ll see how that works out for me…
